cheapest registerar for .com ?

can any one recommend registrar offering the cheapest possible domain name registration. i have been looking for them for a whle now, netfirms seems to be cheapest but anyone has experience with them ?

i know people who sell them and get them for around $5 .com

You need to get close to someone big and has a verisign account
