An interesting game I have invented is to see who can get the highest ranked website on google.
The way it works, is come up with a random made up word that doesn't get any results on google, then make up a website to see who can get the highest rank.
Who's interested in taking part?
I'll lay down the rules later if this gets any interest, though it's basically open to anyone and can only be done using services which are free.

Interesting, but it kinda depends on the word, or words.
Also Id like to add no cheats like hidden text, stuff like that.

The word will be a completely random one that doesn't show up on google. Also something to remember is, google isn't stupid.
Well these are the basic rules I've come up with so far ...
Rules
Web host used will be myphp.net
Domain name must be keyword_username (so in other words, the random word decided then your user name)
You are not allowed to affiliate with websites, other then ones open to everyone to advertise on that are directed at generating traffic.
Only methods used for raising your search rank, must be those that google consider to be legal. You're not allowed to use any type of software that may give you an unfair advantage.
You may use a domain name other then one that is given to you by myphp.net, though the only ones you are allowed to use are free ones such as a .co.nr one which reads keyword_username.co.nr
Further suggestions on rules will be welcome

Im not sure about myphp.net, it leads to flying servers, and thats not a free host.

I did this a while back, i set no rules - it was a "anything goes" game - you know me.
I managed to get to the top of google with the random keyword but when does the game end? I have remained at the top for a while and my challenger is the second result and has been for a while - we have decided to wait and see who get's the first pagerank and then that will decide the winner.
Good concept and it will be interesting to see who joins in ....
The coincidental thing is i used my-php.net and just redirected my .co.uk name servers, i guess great minds think alike eh Dene?

Thanks, nice to hear from you guys.
Web host isn't really that important, though I just want competitors to pick the same one so they have an equal chance. I'm open to suggestions on other web hosts to use.
I think 1 month would be a reasonable amount of time for the competition?
Just an idea anyway, I thought the game could be interesting and perhaps educational ...

I will announce the random word tomorrow evening (UK time). I think I've pretty much decided what word to use, but I personally will start as soon as I have posted the word on here.
The web host used will be 110mb.com and the search engine we will be trying to crawl our way up on will be google.
I've just decided that it will be best to have single web page, instead of an entire web site. You may update it as often as you like. You can have any type of content. as long as it has a good reason for been there other then increasing your search rank. It can't just be spam web page, as you have to try and fool a regular visitor into thinking that it serves some kind of purpose (but you're allowed to mention the details of the competition on the site).
You may advertise your web page in your signature space if you want to.

you might want to set an exact date and time, goodness knows when google will update.

Sorry to be such a pessimist, 110mb.com is a lot better, but they are currently under dos attacks and thier uptime is going down a bit.
I cant even get on my site right now.

lol my-php.net it is then I guess  Thanks for the heads up And I think google index web pages pretty much all the time, but once you submit your page to google then you're already made a start. This competition will finish May 1 in the morning (UK time).

As you will find from a search result on google, there should currently be no results.

I would like to enter the competition but I cannot register account on php site, I get this error, I tried to register "blippygo_aarun1981"
Username cannot be more than 16 characters long
